Assistant Lab Manager, HydroAnalytical Lab

Assist in Lab Management to oversee wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater certifications, analyses, and related duties toward the mission of the Center for Human GeoEnvironmental Studies, including graduate and undergraduate student training and client development, through work that requires experience and certification. Position supports student research and generates revenue for research and development projects that students are involved with in an ongoing basis.
+ Assist Lab Manager in managing Lab workflow and budget, including ordering and maintenance of equipment and supplies
+ Oversee development of new certified analysis methods and ensure QAQC for workflow.
+ Obtain and maintain applicable State and Federal laboratory certifications for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater analyses
+ Manage training and certification of staff and students in water analysis methods
+ Assist Lab Manager with client development and service expansion in areas relevant to Lab mission, including social media and outreach.
Job Requirements:
+ MS degree in a field related to environmental science, public health, or a related, plus a minimum of one year of experience.
+ Candidate must hold KDOW Certification in water analysis methods (wastewater, stormwater, drinking water)
+ Previous lab program coordination and/or management experience
+ Experience in working with students
+ Experience in client development
+ Previous experience in conducting research and contract work
+ Scientific proficiency in both written and oral formats
+ Knowledge of laboratory operations, including QA/QC, KPDES, DMR, and related DOW protocols

Salary: $46,100
