ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Affordable Housing Program is an independent living program providing on-site, light touch case management services to single adults that are age 55 or older. The Program Aide will be responsible for various administrative and programmatic tasks that support the Affordable Housing program. They will also maintain a directory of resources for program participants. Specifically, the Program Aide will:
• Receive visitors and program participants coming to the office
• Maintain a resource tracker in coordination with Tenant Service Coordinators and Assistant Program Director
• Answer program participant questions, take messages, and provide external referrals to program participants, as appropriate
• Assist in scheduling program participants with Tenant Service Coordinator and Residential Services Manager
• Create/Facilitate age-appropriate activities for residents in the building such as game night, movie night, birthday celebrations, etc.
• Develop marketing materials such as flyers, brochures and posters in conjunction with Program Director
• Be responsible for ordering and tracking supplies and equipment
• Communicate with IT, Fiscal department, and Operations Associate on all office equipment orders
• Maintain “unseen list” by utilizing key fob tracker, security desk tracker and front desk tracker
• Accompany case managers on friendly visits to program participants, when necessary
• Retrieve checks, MetroCard’s, or other small packages/parcels from main office in Bushwick
• Translation services when needed
• Additional Administrative tasks as assigned by the Program Director
COMPETENCIES
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Team player and willing to work with a diverse population
• Experience working with the homeless population and/or seniors and older adults
• Some experience creating/facilitating workshops/groups
• Ability to accommodate weekend and evening hours when necessary to meet tenant needs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to advocate
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
• Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to problem solve and build relationships
• Commitment to RiseBoro’s mission, vision, and values
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
• High School degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
