    Description

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join the team on a contract basis for a company in Waipahu, Hawaii. This role is ideal for someone with experience in managing high volumes of invoices and payments, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.     Responsibilities:

    • Process and code accounts payable invoices accurately, ensuring compliance with company procedures.

    • Obtain necessary approvals for payments and post transactions into the general ledger system (Sage 100).

    • Reconcile accounts and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.

    • Prepare and distribute vendor payments, including cutting checks weekly.

    • Manage the invoice matching process to verify inventory and merchandise orders.

    • Ensure accurate contract billing and review charges for approval.

    • Handle electronic 1099 processing and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.

    • Collaborate with the Controller and Senior Accountant on additional tasks and projects as needed.

     

    Requirements • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent, hands-on accounts payable experience.

     

    • Proficiency in enterprise accounting software, with Sage 100 experience preferred.

    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Ability to manage a high volume of invoices and payments efficiently.

    • Experience in account reconciliation and vendor payment processing.

    • Familiarity with inventory transactions and purchase orders is a plus.
