    Assertive Community Treatment Program (ACT)

     

    Part-Time: Monday & Tuesdays 9am-5pm

     

    Based in Glen Cove, but requires travel throughout Nassau County

     

    Hourly Rate: $17 – $20/hour

     

    CEC Healthcare (CEC) is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering adults living with mental illness to achieve their highest potential. We're seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Advocate to join our multidisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team.

     

    We are currently seeking passionate, purpose-driven Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (NYCPS) to join our Glen Cove team on a part-time basis. If you have lived experience and a commitment to helping others on their recovery journey, we’d love to hear from you.

    Position Summary:

    As a Peer Specialist you’ll provide vital peer support services tailored to each client’s treatment plan. Your lived experience will serve as a powerful tool to inspire, guide, and support others through their own recovery journey.

    Responsibilities:

    + Provide peer-to-peer engagement, orientation, education, and advocacy.

    + Offer mentoring, outreach, and recovery support to individuals and families.

    + Help clients navigate systems of care, including medical appointments, court appearances, and other services.

    + Assist with applications for benefits and entitlements.

    + Model effective coping strategies and self-monitoring tools.

    + Act as a positive role model to encourage hope, resilience, and empowerment.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + Current NYS Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) or Provisional certification required.

    + Strong knowledge of addiction recovery services and community resources.

    + Demonstrated commitment to the recovery community.

    + Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
