• Accounting Manager/Sr Accountant

    Description

    We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team. This is a hands-on accounting responsibility with leadership and strategic oversight. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close processes, while also mentoring junior staff and managing daily accounting operations.

     

    This role is well-suited for a seasoned accounting professional looking to step into more leadership, or a current manager who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Accounting & Financial Operations

     

    + Oversee and execute the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    + Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

    + Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, accruals, and journal entries.

    + Manage fixed assets accounting, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions.

    + Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.

     

    Leadership & Oversight

     

    + Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff; provide guidance on technical accounting and procedural issues.

    + Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and support tax compliance efforts.

    + Manage and improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal control frameworks.

    + Serve as a key liaison between accounting and cross-functional teams (e.g., FP& A, Operations, HR, and Legal).

    Additional Responsibilities

    + Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate actuals and variance analyses.

    + Support cash management activities, including bank reconciliations and cash flow tracking.

    + Participate in systems implementation or enhancements (e.g., ERP upgrades, automation initiatives).

    + Provide ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed by leadership.

    Requirements

    Education & Certifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

    + CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.

    Experience

    + Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.

    + At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing accounting staff and functions.

    + Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-location environment is highly desirable.

    + Public accounting background (Big 4 or mid-tier firm) is a plus.

     

    Technical Skills

     

    + Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.

    + Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise).

    + Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data modeling).

    + Experience with financial reporting tools and automation platforms a plus.
