*This position is located on the island of Oahu and candidates must work in the state of Hawaii upon hire*

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

+ Process new business, renewals, endorsements and other transactions, includes handling basic underwriting analysis for routine new business applications.

+ Input data into underwriting tools during pre-underwriting processes and/or gather missing information to assist underwriters in proper evaluation of new and renewal accounts

+ Collaborates with team members to address needs, updates, or concerns related to assigned accounts with understanding of core property & casualty line of business or insurance segment

+ Other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Experience:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)

+ Ability to work well with other

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills

+ Team player with a positive attitude

+ Able to follow directions and detail oriented

Assistant Underwriter I (including the above plus the following):

+ 1 – 2 years general office experience in insurance industry

Assistant Underwriter II (including the above plus the following):

+ 3 – 4 years general office experience in insurance industry

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

+ Commercial underwriting or rating experience

Salary:

$40,800 to $59,670 annually

Salary offer is based on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge , skills and experience. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
