    Summary:

    The Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship is a 12-month postgraduate training program designed to provide extensive clinical, surgical, and didactic experience in adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Our Fellow will acquire advanced knowledge in operative techniques, perioperative management, and critical care, with emphasis on patient safety, quality improvement, and community health advocacy.

     

    + **Extends the services of physicians by providing patient care before and after surgery.**

    + **May also assist physicians in surgical procedures.**

    + **Services that this position may provide include physical exams, closing incisions, interpreting diagnostic tests and counseling patients about treatment.**

    + **Provide coordination and clinical services across the continuum of care for surgical patients.**

    + **Operates under physician directed protocols for all Advanced Practice Provider duties.**

    + **Must obtain and maintain Medical Staff privileges as required by the position.**

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Preferred - 1 year hospital/outpatient clinic experience as a surgical APP.

    Education:

    + Required - Bachelors - Physician Assistant

    Credentials:

    + PA (Physician Assistant) - State of Florida

    + BLS/ACLS

    **Facility:** BayCare Health System, Admin - Hospital Related-MPH

     

    Status:** **Full Time, Exempt: Yes

     

    Shift Hours:** **7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

     

    Shift:** **Shift 1

     

    Shift 1 = Days, 2 = Evenings, 3 = Nights, 4 = Varies

     

    Weekend Work:** **Occasional
