    POSITION DETAILS

    The School of Continuing & Professional Studies at Lehman College, CUNY, is seeking an Associate Director of Continuing Education. Continuing Education serves approximately 7,000 students annually and is financially self-sufficient, generating $1.3 million in revenue. You will report to the Director of Continuing Education and work within a supportive yet fast-paced environment. You will manage a team that supports over 25 different non-credit program areas.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Drive growth in non-degree offerings by identifying training needs through market analysis and by leveraging your customer service team and program outcome data. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with teachers and coordinators to develop and modernize the curriculum and launch new or redesigned programs onto the market.

    • Manage a team of part-time and full-time staff who deliver impactful customer service and operational support to prospects, students, and teachers. Coach, empower, and evaluate staff to maintain a culture of accountability and identify opportunities for operational improvements. Requires a flexible schedule, including some evenings and Saturdays, for program operations and staff supervision.

    • Oversee student success through monitoring, advising, and troubleshooting to ensure a seamless and supportive experience for all continuing education students.

    • Champion instructional quality by systematically collecting, analyzing, and reporting program outcomes, assessing instructor performance through class observations, conducting curriculum reviews, and leveraging student evaluations to measure effectiveness. In collaboration with the director, manage the hiring, coaching, and assessment of teachers and coordinators.

    • Lead department marketing, outreach, and recruitment efforts by planning and evaluating marketing plans designed to attract, engage, and convert prospective students into registered learners. This entails pioneering outreach strategies, supervising social media marketing efforts, and managing impactful events.

    • Liaison across internal departments (Budget, Registrar, CUNY on the Concourse, other SCPS programs), fostering essential partnerships that expand our reach and impact.

    • Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Continuing Education Programs

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience.\

     

    • Experience managing or teaching programs for adult learners.

    • Direct Supervisory experience of full-time or part-time staff

    Preferred

    • Direct experience managing adult education and workforce development programs

    • Experience supervising faculty

    • Creating curriculum and assessment for adult learners

    • Teaching experience, including online teaching experience

    • Proficiency with relevant software, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), enrollment management platforms, and productivity software.

    CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

    Manages the Continuing Education Office and designs, develops, and implements instructional programs and activities, coordinating with other College support systems.

     

    - Oversees the general operation of the Continuing Education Office; hires and manages staff; oversees registration, payments, and other office activities

     

    - Designs and makes recommendations to Director for academic, outreach, general training, and certificate programs

     

    - Develops and writes grant proposals

     

    - Hires faculty and coordinates teaching schedules

     

    - Observes classes, analyzes student evaluations, and performs faculty evaluations

     

    - Orients new faculty and acts as liaison to resolve faculty issues

     

    - Plans and implements advertising campaigns and designs marketing and other program materials

     

    - Maintains financial information such as tuition payments, material costs, and faculty payroll

     

    - Develops mailing lists and analyzes marketing strategies and student profiles

     

    - Acts as a liaison between the Continuing Education Office and other internal and external units on co-operative and co-sponsored programs.

    Salary commensurate with education and experience. **$74,249 - $118,070**
