TheSociology Program (sociology.bard.edu) at Bard College invites applications for a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2026. Successful candidates will use quantitative or computational methods in their research, and preference will be given to applicants who have research/teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: the sociology of health and medicine; science, technology, and media; economic sociology; and work, labor, and organizations.
Candidates must possess a commitment to research and to teaching effectiveness. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the candidate’s areas of specialization, core courses in the curriculum, and supervising undergraduate senior theses.

Compensation: $88,750-$91,500
This salary range reflects the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
