    Job Requisition: REQ3846 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 hours

     

    Hiring range: $21.84-$28.39

     

    The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

    Responsibilities:

    • Correctly register and enter Lab orders in the computer with accuracy and complete information for outreach and outpatient specimens

    • Receive specimens from providers, and accession laboratory tests based on provider order.

    • Assists with processing of Lab specimens and reports in laboratory areas as required

    • Initiate, research, document and resolve any/all situations that require a Customer Service Action

    • Participates in all levels of client services, as required, including registration, order entry, and supply chain

    • Demonstrates responsibility for timely, effective and accurate processing and reporting of postanalytical laboratory results as required

    • Utilizes safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies

    • Perform routine phlebotomy when phlebotomy staffing falls below minimal levels or in support of emergent patient care.

    • Perform all essential job functions as the Laboratory Assistant I in order to ensure a smooth workflow and quality patient care

    • Participates in training and education of others as requested

    • Creates and uses work aid documents as needed

    Minimum Qualifications: Education

    • High school diploma or GED and minimum of three years of experience processing reference laboratory specimens.

    • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in science, biology, chemistry, or microbiology preferred, and may be substituted for required experience.

     

    Skills • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred. • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems. Computer literate and working knowledge of word processing, and spreadsheets • Excellent communication, and customer service skill.Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.
