    As Director of Engineering Portable Gas Detection for Honeywell Process Measurement Controls (PMC), you will oversee technology strategy, roadmaps, and new product launches for portable gas detection. You will lead the product development team to execute projects aligned with portfolio goals.

     

    The main responsibilities include ensuring functional alignment, driving strategic initiatives, supervising projects, and mentoring technical staff. You will also guide the adoption of the Honeywell Operating System and steer the team toward operational targets.

     

    PMC is a $1.5bn Strategic Business Unit within Honeywell’s Industrial Automation Group, specializing in gas measurement, control, detection, field instrumentation, terminal gauging, and custody transfer solutions. Our innovations enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability for customers in oil and gas, renewable energy, utilities, and semiconductors.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Define, assess and implement portable gas detection projects

    + Partner with offering management for portfolio strategy and technology roadmap

    + Pursue Advanced Development initiatives to design differentiated products.

    + Identify areas for improvement by monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators and implementing on-going strategies to improve

    + Drive Cycle Time projects to improve agility

    + Evaluate current technology challenges to prioritize projects

    + Deliver productivity, delivery and quality enhancements

    + Demonstrate global mindset; develops global networks and involves global organizations in technical activities.

    + Demonstrate integrity in technology collaborations and reviews. Ensure key contributors are accorded recognition.

    + Routinely apply and encourage other employees in the application of processes, practices and company values.

    + Drive implementation of key Honeywell programs and processes

    + Conduct planning and analysis of design capabilities to ensure that the best available technologies are employed to provide cost-effective products that meet market expectations

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    The annual base salary range for this position is <$188K - $235K>. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

     

    This position is incentive plan eligible.

    YOU MUST HAVE

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

    + 10 + years of engineering experience in cross functional product development.

    + Experience successfully developing 2 products through its full lifecycle in a structured phase-based development process.

    + Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying challenges and driving resolutions.

    + Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to influence and manage cross-functional collaboration effectively.

    WE VALUE

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

    + Master’s degree in engineering or other technical related field.

    + Experience in implementing lean and six sigma methodologies.

    + Experience in developing portable gas detection products
