    Description of Job

    The Colorado Department of Revenue Lottery Divisionis looking to hire individuals to work as Minor Operatives. Minor Operatives are individuals who are hired through the State between the ages of 16 years old & 17 years old and are tasked with attempting to purchase lottery products from licensed establishments.

     

    These checks are called underage compliance checks and aim to prevent underage sales of lottery tickets to those under the age of 18 years.

     

    If you are interested, you will work directly with Lottery Division Investigators. The investigators will be watching nearby in the store and recording, as you attempt to purchase lottery tickets. You will work in an undercover capacity and may be required to be available to testify in criminal court and administrative hearings.

     

    The work is anything but consistent; we are looking for candidates that can be flexible with their work schedule. The investigator will schedule checks, on average, once every 3 months (but could be more), throughout the assigned area.

     

    + Transportation to licensed lottery retailers will be provided.

    + The investigator works around class schedules, and other employment.

    + You must complete State Application and background paperwork to begin.

    + No set working schedules or guaranteed hours.

    + Pueblo, Colorado Springs and surrounding area

    + Denver Metro area

    + Fort Collins, Loveland, Timnath, and Johnstown area

    + The Western Slope

     

    Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Must be between the ages of 16 and 17.5 years old.

    AND

    Must possess and maintain a valid State issued Identification Card (ID) or Driver License and be willing and able to work evenings and weekends.

    Special Necessary Qualifications:

    + Must possess and maintain a valid State issued Identification Card (ID) or Driver License

    + Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends.

    + Applicants must also undergo a conflict-of-interest assessment to determine compliance with the provisions of C.R.S.§ 44-40-110, and must remain in compliance with C.R.S. § 44-40-110 for the duration of their employment with the Colorado Lottery.

    + Applicants and immediate family members residing in the same household must comply with restrictions on game play.

    + Applicants and immediate family members residing in the same household must ensure compliance with appropriate Lottery laws and rules, including conflicts of interest.

    Conditions of Employment with the CDOR:

    Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.

     

    As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.

     

    Pursuant to the Universal Driving Standards Policy (https://osc.colorado.gov/sites/osc/files/documents/Universal%20Policy%20Driving%20Standards.pdf) , any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.

    To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who:

    + Have an assigned State fleet vehicle

    + Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position

    + Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
