    Surety Account Specialist

     

    Do you have a basic knowledge of Surety, bond issuance, execution, and bond management applications? Or do you enjoy working in an environment that is deadline driven and interacts with clients? Are you organized, highly focused on detail accuracy and looking to become familiar with the construction surety industry? If so, this may be the next step in your career!     What the day will look like

     

    As a Surety Account Specialist your day will vary depending on the level of Surety experience you have. If you have no Surety experience, we will provide all required training and mentorship to help you on your way. A less experienced Surety Account Specialist will learn how to provide surety technical advice/support to non-surety personnel and coordinate receipt of pertinent underwriting information. If you are a more experienced Account Specialist, you will work more independently and have more interaction with clients and Surety Advisors. A senior level Surety Account Specialist may be called on to provide mentoring and coaching to other less experienced colleagues.

     

    All Specialists, regardless of Surety knowledge, will confirm that bonds are issued in compliance with surety lines of credit and assist in the negotiation of approvals for execution of bonds that are outside of, or in excess of, established surety lines of credit or broker authority.

     

    A few of the tasks that will be completed:

    + Prepare Consent of Surety Final Payment documents, prequalification letters, bond riders, and other documents required by clients.

    + Prepare General Indemnity Agreements/bond applications.

    + Run expiration lists and update the corresponding records, according to client’s wishes and needs.

    + Maintain accurate electronic bond files as well as financial underwriting documents.

    + Invoice and maintain account receivables/payables.

    + Update client underwriting information and bond records following bond execution.

    + Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

    + Ability to effectively interpret a variety of technical instructions; taking care of abstract and concrete variables.

    + Experience or education in Construction Management/Insurance/Banking/Surety.

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

    + A Property and Casualty Brokers License is required, or must be obtained within 120 days of hire if not already active

     

    Pay Transparency

     

    The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $65,000 - $80,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
