    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer with a strong background in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will drive the Quality Assurance strategy for our AI/ML initiatives and support Quality oversight for IT infrastructure hosting Kite Applications, specifically within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. This role will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining rigorous Quality standards and processes across the entire AI/ML lifecycle – from model development and deployment to ongoing monitoring and governance – ensuring the reliability, accuracy, ethical compliance, and overall quality of our AI/ML solutions in this regulated context. This role will also collaborate with Gilead IT and vendors to ensure the reliability, performance and security of IT infrastructure hosting Kite applications and data.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Support leadership in defining and implementing comprehensive quality assurance processes and methodologies throughout the AI/ML lifecycle, from data acquisition and model development to deployment and monitoring.

    + Support quality strategy and framework for all AI/ML initiatives across the organization, ensuring adherence to quality principles and standards.

    + Develop and implement quality checks within comprehensive frameworks for responsible and compliant AI utilization, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

    + Champion the implementation of quality checks for techniques ensuring the explainability and interpretability of AI models, fostering trust and understanding among both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    + Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for AI/ML quality-related policies, procedures, and guidelines

    + Support in the development and implement training curricula and materials to support the effective rollout and adoption of AI/ML quality standards, policies, and procedures across relevant teams.

    + Develop and enforce quality standards for robust systems and processes across the entire AI model lifecycle, including continuous model monitoring, retraining strategies, and performance optimization.

    + Ensure infrastructure meets security standards and regulatory requirements.

    + Work with Gilead IT and vendors to create and maintain documentation related to infrastructure design, configuration and procedures.

    + Support the enterprise and network quality engineering group with CSV activities where required.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and AI platform Experience with AI governance frameworks and regulatory compliance OR

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field with 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and AI platform Experience with AI governance frameworks and regulatory compliance OR

    + Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and AI platform Experience with AI governance frameworks and regulatory compliance OR

    + High School Degree with 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and AI platform Experience with AI governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + At Least 2 years in AI platform Experience with AI governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.

    + Experience in quality management systems for the AI model lifecycle.

    + Familiarity with quality assurance tools and best practices for cloud-based AI/ML platforms.

    + Experience with quality assessment and validation of reinforcement learning applications for autonomous systems.

    + Experience working within different automated testing frameworks

    + Strong understanding of server, network and cloud technologies

    + Experience with scripting and automation tools

    + Understanding of security best practices and relevant regulations

     

    The salary range for this position is: $123,930.00 - $160,380.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
