About the Role: Insurance Authorization & Verification Specialist
As a Insurance Authorization & Verification Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the health, happiness, and daily experience of the residents at Wesley at Home.
As a Insurance Authorization & Verification Specialist, you will:
+ Contacts client insurance companies to verify coverage levels and educates clients on their benefits information.
+ Obtains verification of client payer benefits and eligibility for services ordered including private insurance, Veteran's Association, and Medicare/Medicaid.
+ Maintains written and verbal communication regarding authorization, re-authorization, and retro-authorization of visits.
+ Provide payers with verbal or faxed clinical status reports, etc. as needed.
+ Maintains working knowledge of specific contracts between the agency and various payers.
+ Ensures that cases are effectively managed according to utilization and authorization, as defined by payer. This includes documentation and ongoing maintenance of authorization and re-authorization.
+ Responds appropriately to resolve conflicts, seeking management assistance as appropriate.
+ Scans insurance documents as needed for “Accounts Receivable and Billing Manager.”
+ Answers incoming calls as needed.
+ Works in collaboration with billers, leaders and field staff.
