    Position Overview

As an Engineering Technician where you will create Substation design packages for the electric utility industry. You willbe responsible forproviding technical support to the engineering staff producing design packages and associated project work.     Responsibilities

    + Supporting all quality and project management goals

    + Assistingand supporting scope and project proposals

    + Meeting all project deadlines and supporting the processes and procedures to meet deadlines

    + Mentoring and training less experienced colleagues

    + Building andmaintainingeffective client relationships

    + Maintaining up-to-date technical skills related to the design of protection and control systems for the electric utility power grid through on-the-job work and formal training

    + Developing drawings andassistin the preparation of design packages using CAD/drafting skills; drawings include:

    + Functional diagrams

    + Logic diagram

    + AC power elementary

    + DC schematics

    + Control house plan views

    + Wiring diagrams

    + Control panel elevations

    + Preparingadditionalsupport documentation for the construction and maintenance of protection and control systems being designed

    + Consistently following established design standards and CAD drafting standards while assuring quality,accuracyand completeness

    + Identifyingprocess improvement ideas and commuting ideas throughappropriate managementchannels

    + Compiling bills of material

    Qualifications

    Education:AS Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field, or 2 years of formal post-high school specialized trade (technical school or certifications).

     

    Experience: Ideal candidates will have 2- 5years design experiencewith experiencedirectly relatedto working with electricity, preferably in the utility sector.

     

    Specialized Knowledge,Certifications andLicenses:Proficiencywith AutoCAD, MicroStation is a plus.

     

    The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.

     

    **Compensation:** $24.00 - 41.00/hour
