    Job Summary: Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with the community and for development activities including special events, third party fundraisers, statewide project teams, assisting assigned director with annual campaign, and special projects.

    Essential Functions

    + Solicits, plans, implements and evaluates large fundraising events and third party events.

    + Recognizes third party organizations and seeks other third party fundraising opportunities.

    + Manages all details regarding hospice program -sponsored events; facilitates all committee involvement including recruitment and staffing of committee members; solicits and secures corporate and individual sponsorship; creates budget and manages expenses; manages promotion and public relations for event in coordination with the communications team.

    + Assists with planning, implementation, and evaluation of annual giving campaign and other special projects on the local and statewide level.

    + Assists in efforts relating to donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, maintenance, stewardship and recognition in coordination with the department director in assigned region.

    + Keeps abreast of fundraising procedures being used in the nonprofit sector and informs director of items that would be of benefit and interest to them in their work on behalf of NorthStar Care Community .

    + Seeks out new funding opportunities in assigned region and manages recurring fund requests.

    + Assists in the design and implementation of a strategic plan for increasing the number of major-gift donors, giving amounts and retention rates.

    + Assists in the development and maintenance of annual expense and revenue budgets.

    + Responsible for timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and other periodic narrative reports, invoices, and financial statements to donors as required.

    + Prepares and operates within an approved annual budget.

    + Actively participates in internal and external education, training, in-services and other activities to promote personal and professional growth.

    + Adjusts to changes in workload and schedules based on changing priorities.

    + Stays in frequent contact with donors, trustees and general public.

    + Staffs committees and volunteers in their efforts to introduce new friends and raise funds.

    + Serves as liaison to third party events and provides assistance as needed.

    + Develops and maintains positive working relationships potential funding partners for the organization’s benefit.

    + Networks and nurtures relationships with existing and prospective funders with the goal of increasing charitable and program support.

    + Actively participates in activities that promote NorthStar Care Community ’s mission in the community.

    + Adheres to organizational Code of Conduct, policies and procedures and all regulatory and legal requirements. Follows all NorthStar Care Community standards for donor integrity.

    + Adheres to the NorthStar standards to care for every person, every time, 100% of the time.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree required. Five (5) years’ experience in the development arena preferred.

    + Strong concentration in special events, communications, grants and/or major gifts experience preferred. Special events and project management experience required.

    + Experience working with donor database such as Raisers Edge and working with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

    + Must demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

    + Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, effective organizational, prioritization and follow-through skills, attention to detail, tact, dependability, emotional intelligence and the ability to promote positive, constructive relationships with communication and collaboration at all levels with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

    + Must be able to read, write and speak English and be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing in internal and external relationships for all essential job functions.

    + Must be able to coordinate several tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of efficiency and accuracy. Must possess the ability to function under stress.

    + The physical demands of the position include: vision, effective speech and hearing for extensive telephone contact; repetitive motion; driving or riding in a motor vehicle; standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and stretching; and lifting up to twenty five (25) pounds unassisted.

    + Must have reliable transportation in order to be able to work variable hours/shifts and/or days, including weekends. Must have the ability to occasionally work extended days, as necessary.

    + Must be eligible to work in the United States.
