Position Summary:
Robert Half is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Senior Accountant to support our client’s accounting team with advanced financial tasks. In this role, you will use your expertise to oversee complex accounting operations, ensure compliance with industry standards, and provide critical insights into financial performance. This temporary opportunity is ideal for results-driven professionals experienced in navigating fast-paced business environments.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling complex accounts, and ensuring all transactions align with GAAP
+ Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to offer actionable business insights
+ Manage intercompany accounting, consolidations, and eliminations across multiple entities
+ Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily operations
+ Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements
+ Monitor and implement process improvements in financial systems and reporting protocols
+ Coordinate with external auditors during the financial audit process by preparing documentation and addressing inquiries
+ Stay updated on changes to accounting standards and ensure the organization’s compliance with evolving regulations
Requirements
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
+ Experience: 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level positions.
+ Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics. Expertise in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros) is required.
+ Knowledge: In-depth understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and multi-entity consolidations.
+ Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage diverse priorities under tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience working with contract talent or staffing agencies
+ Familiarity with ASC topics such as Revenue Recognition and Lease Accounting
+ Proven ability to improve processes and enhance efficiencies in accounting operations
