    Position: Instructional Teaching Assistant (Posting number 2526-3492)

    Requirements: Must have NYS Certification as a Teaching Assistant - Level I, Level II or Level III or have NYS certification as a teacher

    We strongly welcome candidates with the following qualifications:

    + A strong understanding of Mathematics

    + Familiarity with NYS Math Standards & Practices

    + Excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative

    + Candidates must have knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.

    + Excellent classroom management skills

    + Must have a professional repertoire including but not limited to organization, time management, technology skills, and approach

    Responsibilities:

    + Support students with math concepts

    + Collaborate with teachers

    + Assess student learning in a variety of ways

    + Provides comprehensive instruction in the NYS Standards aligned Math curriculum

    + Demonstrates a deep and rich knowledge of mathematics in addition to the ability to convey it to the students

    + Maintains accurate and timely student records available for teacher, student or parent reference

     

    Salary: As per current Educational Support Association Agreement (ESA) as well as education and experience
