    Job Description

    JWF Industries designs, manufactures, and integrates metal centric products by growing with the right people, the right processes, the right markets, and the right customers. Capabilities include program management, welding, forming, machining, and coatings. JWF Industries and JWF Defense Systems have locations in Johnstown, PA; Baltimore, MD; and Edenton, NC.

     

    As we expand in our Edenton location, we have a need for Construction Equipment Mechanics in our Dye Plant Road facility. Work tasks will include (but are not limited to): disassembly, cataloging of parts, repair/replacement of major systems, and reassembly of equipment. Successful candidates will be required to work in a safe and professional manner at all times. JWFI conducts pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background investigations. US Citizenship is required.

    Essential Duties

    Successful candidates must have previous experience in performing disassembly, repair, and rebuild of construction equipment to like-new condition.

     

    Work requires the ability to inspect and test major functional systems and components, and the ability to perform repairs and modifications in accordance with technical publications and manufacturer specifications

    Education Level

    Construction Equipment Mechanic/Repairer or similar training preferred

    Experience

    Job Requirements:

    + Work requires the ability to safely mount and connect hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and other construction vehicle system components.

    + A combination of 2+ years of related work experience and/or training; previous mechanical experience in the military or construction equipment industry is highly desired.

    + Work requires the ability to navigate computer systems to look up work instructions, cross reference part numbers, check inventory, and reference production tables.

     

    Physical Demands

     

    While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. The employee is regularly required to walk and stand on concrete surfaces for 10 hours per day. Work requires regular use of hands (including gripping & grasping), reaching with arms, including reaching overhead and outward frequently, and the ability to climb over and into equipment several times per day. The employee is frequently required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear. The employee will frequently walk and must frequently lift and move objects. Specific vision requirements: color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

     

    + Occasional use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment to test operation

    + Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

    + Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for 8-10 hours per day

    + Ability to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time

    + Ability to climb over and into equipment several times per day

    Work Environment

     

    The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. There is frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to wet and/ or humid conditions and extreme cold or heat. The employee is at risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
