    Job Title: Quality Control Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a meticulous Quality Control Technician to join our team. In this role, you will interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, and engineering specifications to determine production standards and tolerance limits. You will troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems in cooperation with the Engineering and production staff. Additionally, you will recommend methods of assembly, welding, and production while ensuring all products conform to specifications.

    Responsibilities

    + Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.

    + Troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems with Engineering and production staff.

    + Recommend methods of assembly, welding, and production.

    + Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part, finished material, and products, ensuring conformance to specifications.

    + Test finished products for paint quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, fit, blast profile, and appearance.

    + Perform standard inspection tests including air testing welds and magna-flux testing.

    + Route product for re-work as necessary.

    + Complete all required records and paperwork including inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders.

    + Process purchase damage numbers when incorrect material is received.

    + Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation.

    + Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.

    + Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality.

    + Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and engineering specifications.

    + Troubleshooting skills related to print and bill of materials.

    + Knowledge of quality control and inspection of parts.

    + Experience with test equipment and welding inspection.

    + 2+ years of quality experience.

    + 1+ year experience in reading blueprints and working in a metal fabricating shop inspecting welds.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in a metal fabricating shop is preferred.

    + Strong communication skills to effectively convey quality standards.

    Work Environment

     

    Work on a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 5am to 3:30pm, with Friday as an optional workday.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Racine, Wisconsin.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
