Position Summary Details

The Lead Janitor oversees the cleaning and maintenance of facilities to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. This role includes supervising janitorial staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, inspecting work quality, and performing hands-on cleaning duties. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced in custodial operations.

Responsibilities

+ Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of janitorial staff.

+ Train new custodial team members on cleaning procedures and safety protocols.

+ Inspect facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are met.

+ Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.

+ Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.

+ Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (e.g., floor buffers, carpet cleaners).

+ Respond to urgent cleaning needs or maintenance issues.

+ Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

+ Communicate effectively with management regarding staffing, supplies, and facility needs.

Qualifications

+ Must be 18 years of age or older.

+ Customer Service Experience

+ One year of lead or supervisory experience
