Job Summary

Our team is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for work on complex water, wastewater, and stormwater projects in Richmond, VA. Your key responsibility will be to provide on-site project coordination and technical reviews of construction documents submitted for approval by the contractor .

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Oversees office services during construction for the client that will be performed from an on-site field office.

+ Provides technical reviews of the project deliverables.

+ Trouble-shoots design issues that arise during construction.

+ Proactively manages Client expectations and assuring client satisfaction related to project.

+ Perform on-site field visits with clients and contractors as needed to resolve field conflicts.

+ Attend on-site weekly construction meetings.

+ Mentoring of junior technical staff as required.

+ Responsible for project quality. Assures QA/QC processes are completed on each project.

+ Lead conversations on client’s behalf with Contractor to resolve conflicts, answer questions, and enforce contract documents.

+ Understand and enforce contract documents.

+ Lead project controls and documentation of project submittals, invoices, RFIS, etc.

+ Respond to RFIs within requirements of contract documents.

+ Work with design team to ensure design intent is achieved during construction.

+ Work with design team ensuring ability to provide adequate constructability (construction sequencing, scheduling, etc.)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely-related field with 8+ years’ experience working with MEP projects.

+ Ability to understand and interpret contract documents such as specifications, drawings, and shop drawings.

+ Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint sites, and Bluebeam Revu.

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Professional Engineer License in the state of Virginia.

+ Past experience with Wastewater treatment plants. Preferably in the City of Richmond.

+ Experience managing all phases of construction work on multiple contracts simultaneously as well as project management of complex water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.
