    Job Description

    Join a dedicated pediatric outpatient clinic connected to a hospital, where you can learn and grow within a supportive organization.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist providers by rooming patients, obtaining blood pressure, documenting signs and symptoms, and taking weight and temperature.

    + Complete medical history documentation and assist with various tests such as urinalyses, strep, flu, and pregnancy tests.

    + Set up for and assist providers with miscellaneous tasks.

    + Schedule tests, radiology exams, and specialist appointments as requested.

    + Enter all information related to check-in and check-out in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

    + Perform prior authorizations and notify the office referral specialist when an insurance referral is required.

    + Conduct phone triage, including handling patient medical questions, test results, medication refills, and call-backs.

    + Fax, call, and transmit prescription refills as directed.

    Essential Skills

    + Active CMA (AAMA), RMA, or CCMA certification.

    + Successful completion of and graduation from a recognized medical assistant training course or equivalent experience.

    + High school diploma or GED.

    + Proficiency in medical assisting, patient care, and customer service.

    + Experience in rooming patients and handling EMR systems.

    + Ability to take vitals, manage appointment scheduling, and use electronic health records.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + 2+ years of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.

    + Experience within family practice or pediatrics is advantageous.

    + Proficiency in Point of Care (POC) testing.

    + An upbeat, positive, and outgoing attitude with a willingness to ensure consistent patient flow and positive interactions.

    + Ability to stand for long periods.

    Work Environment

    Work in a temperature-controlled environment at JMH in Franklin, alongside a team of two providers and one other Medical Assistant. The team sees approximately 130 patients daily. The employee will work one one one with a provider. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with no weekend work and holidays off.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.22 - $25.00/hr.
