As Laboratory Supervisor at our facility you will have the opportunity to lead a highly functioning team that supports many different departments throughout the hospital and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing.
In this role:
+ You will supervise and coordinate the technical and administrative operational activities of all clinical laboratory areas including Chemistry, Hematology, and Point of Care.
+ You will establish and update policies and procedures in the laboratory to meet the standards and the needs of the patient, the physician, the hospital Administration, and the medical staff.
+ You may perform medical technology duties.
+ You will be responsible for assuring that all individuals in the department who are responsible for the assessment, treatment, or care of patients are competent to deliver care appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
+ You will actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
+ You will oversee the training and reviewing of students coming through the Laboratory for clinical practicums.
+ You will ensure that department policies and procedures are adhered to.
Qualifications:
+ Current State of Utah ASCP licensure.
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or equivalent.
+ 4-5 years of experience as a Medical Technologist in an acute care hospital laboratory setting.
+ 2+ years of experience in a supervisory/management position.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and written.
+ Strong problem solving, management, prioritization, and leadership skills necessary.
+ American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
