Required Skills:

Security Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Identify, build, and configure security systems to protect infrastructure.

2. Identify and analyze threats that aim to collect sensitive information or disrupt business.

3. Analyze malware and develop new signatures or methodologies to track activity and drive rapid deployment of countermeasures.

4. Assess the security of the core infrastructure and take a hands-on role in building solutions.

5. Make threat intelligence actionable by integrating it with existing or novel detection capabilities.

6. Define configuration standards for system and network devices to harden them against attacks.

7. Work with members of IT, Operations, and Security teams to harden the infrastructure against attack.

8. Consult on new infrastructure projects or architecture changes and evaluate security needs.

9. Communicate cross-functionally and effectively in one-on-one and group settings to explain complex security requirements to non-security individuals.

10. Assist with technical investigation, enforcement, and engineering efforts toward predictable high quality execution.

11. Review case reports and code.

12. Act as a subject matter expert and assist with technical security strategy.

13. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the US.

Minimum Qualifications:

14. Requires a Master's degree in Security Informatics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Foreign equivalent accepted

15. Requires 24 months of experience involving the following:

16. 1. Coding skills in one of the following: PHP, Python, or Bash

17. 2. Internet security issues and the threat landscape

18. 3. Host, network and application security

19. 4. GNU, Linux, Windows, or OS X

20. 5. TCP/IP networking, and network services such as DNS, SMTP, and DCHP

21. 6. Addressing cyber threats

22. 7. Developing and debugging in C, C++, C#, or Java

23. 8. Developing and debugging in PHP and Python

24. 9. Distributed systems

25. 10. Interpreting information from multiple sources and working with data sets

26. 11. Developing front-end and back-end systems

Public Compensation:

$237,402/year to $290,180/year + bonus + equity + benefits
