    Job Description:

    The Senior Associate Regional Director of Major Giving reports to the Regional Director of Major Giving and is expected to be a strategic and collaborative leader within the University Advancement division. They are responsible for supporting the Regional Director in driving philanthropic success across a designated geographic region. This role combines frontline fundraising with gift officer management and regional strategy, directly contributing to the University’s mission and long-term goals.

     

    The Senior Associate Regional Director manages up to three Major Gift Officers (MGOs), providing hands-on leadership to ensure they are inspired, supported, and empowered to achieve their fundraising goals. This includes setting clear expectations, helping MGOs develop donor strategy, and fostering a culture of motivation, professional growth, and donor-centered engagement. The Senior Associate Regional Director also maintains a personal portfolio of major gift prospects capable of making philanthropic commitments of $250,000 or more. They will offer insight to the Regional Director in shaping regional strategy, setting performance benchmarks, and collaborating across the division to meet donor needs.

     

    This position is ideal for a results-oriented fundraiser who thrives in a leadership role, is passionate about mentoring others, and is committed to building strong donor relationships that lead to transformational impact. The Senior Associate Regional Director requires a minimum of five years of fundraising experience with proven success in closing six-figure commitments. They are expected to have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, and leadership skills.

     

    This posting represents three openings, with each position dedicated to one region: New England, Northeast/Southeast, and Midwest/West Coast.

     

    Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The salary range for this position is $130,700 - $163,400 with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations.

    Requirements

    A bachelor’s degree is required, and a minimum of five years of fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in securing six-figure commitments. Additional requirements include:

    + Prior experience managing or mentoring fundraising staff preferred.

    + Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

    + Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    + Passion for higher education and its transformative mission.

    + Ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and vision.

    + Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

    + Familiarity with CRM systems and data-informed fundraising practices.

    + Willingness to travel frequently to the designated region.

    + An understanding and appreciation of Boston College’s Jesuit, Catholic mission is essential.

     

    Travel, evening, and weekend work is required to be successful. A valid driver’s license is required.
