    POSITION PURPOSE

    Manage the Flight Operations Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Program. Enhancing the Company’s mission of providing the safest, most reliable and cost-efficient air transportation in accordance with Company policies and procedures, the FAA and other government regulations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    + Manages the Flight Operations EFB program to deliver critical information to pilots during flight operations in the flight deck.

    + Develop and implement policies and processes for pilot use of EFBs. Coordinates with the FAA to gain approval for those policies and processes as needed.

    + Coordinates with IT on device asset management, security, software implementation, data connectivity, and makes hardware decisions as needed.

    + Collaborate with Inflight operations on all EFB matters.

    + Interfaces with code shares on in flight connectivity

    + Manages testing and evaluation program for EFBs including required lab testing and managing the EFB test group.

    + Owner and manager of the regulatory document management software for operations. Interfaces with the vendor and IT to maintain 99%+ reliability

    + Sets policy and administrative guidelines for the document management software.

    + Responsible for maintaining backup systems for EFBs, including document management and aeronautical charting.

    + Primary SME for Operations Specification A025 and the Electronic Compliance Manual.

    + Design and maintain the Flight Operations web portal.

    + Monitors and audits Flight Operations memos and digital communications for currency.

    + Flight Operations aeronautical data manager. Controls the aircraft navigation database, charting subscription, and is the primary vendor interface for these items.

    + Charter Operations SME. Includes maintaining policy and appropriate manuals, planning and briefing crew members, and acting as an onsite coordinator as needed. Evaluates airports for suitability

    + Flight Operations coordinator for Part 91 operations (recruiting events, etc.)

    + Facilitate communication and interaction among functional and technical representatives for assigned projects to provide transparent project and risk statuses

    + Ensures required FAA and Company regulations are in compliance with all aspects of Flight Operations

    + Develop and maintain strong cross-different relationships

    + Fosters an environment to ensure the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of flight operations

    + Acts as a Flight Operations POC for after-hour technology and charter issues.

    + Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    _The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job._

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    + Working Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations

    + Excellent organizational and project management skills

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and activities independently and work in a team environment

    + Familiarity with FAA aeronautical data and procedures

    PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    + Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or related area.

    + 2 years of experience in a flight, dispatch, or other aviation operations role

    + Previous supervisory and/or managerial work experience

    + Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

    + Experience with Agile, or Scrum

    + Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

    REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

    Possess strong analytical skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Strong evaluation and troubleshooting skills.

    DECISION MAKING

    Makes decisions to support strategic decisions. Decisions have impact across and outside of the organization. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions. Able to plan, direct and organize a department and establish goal setting.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    + Able to climb, balance, stoop or crouch up to 10% of the time.

    + Able to sit for long periods of time.

    + Capable of lifting or moving items weighing up to 75 pounds.

    + Able to adhere to the visual demands set in the medical standards established by the FAA.

    + Able to hear verbal communications in person, on the telephone and over a headset.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position requires the ability to work near moving mechanical parts up to 10% of the time.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    Travel up to 50% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays and overnight stays.
