    General Summary Statement

     

    The Human Resources Coordinator provides multifunctional administrative support in customer and employee relations, and overall operations within the Human Resources and Organizational Development Department (HROD). This position is often the first line of contact for individuals calling or visiting to the HROD Department. The Human Resources Coordinator responsibilities include customer and employee relations, coordination of the shadowing program, HROD events, and maintenance of employee records. This position will support compliance activities and other related administrative duties. **This position is 100% on-site.**

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responds and directs calls and visitors to the appropriate information or individual.

    • Supports the scheduling of meetings as assigned; and responds to internal and external inquiries via phone, email and in-person. • Maintains employee records in compliance with applicable regulatory and departmental standards utilizing paper and Human Resources Information systems (HRIS).

    • Coordinator of the Hospital’s Student/Shadowing Program.

    • Assist with the organization and coordination of events that are sponsored by the HROD Department including New Hire Orientation, Service Awards, Employee, Community and Student Events. • Provides administrative support as needed for the HROD Team.

    • Provides coverage for the Executive Assistant and Senior Leave Administrator as needed.

    • Troubleshoots situations and office equipment to resolution. • Coordinates department volunteer activities.

    • Maintains and orders office supplies. • Supports in the coordination of employee engagement activities such as post hire surveys, and exit surveys.

    • Maintains confidentiality and handles multiple simultaneous demands while maintaining customer service standards. • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, polices, and procedures. • Other duties as assigned to support the HROD Department.

    Education Training and Experience

    • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

    • One year experience in Human Resources and/or related experience in a large health care organization is preferred.

    • Familiarity with a hospital environment and healthcare careers is preferred. •

     

    Able to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining excellent customer service is required.

     

    • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.

    • Excellent computer proficiency skills in Micro Soft Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
