• Associate Software Developer

    ManTech (Herndon, VA)


    MANTECH seeks a motivated **Associate** **Software Developer** eager to grow their skills while supporting the improvement of government IT systems. In this role, you’ll contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of mission-critical software, working in a collaborative environment where learning and innovation are encouraged. This position is in **Herndon, VA** .

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + You will support the full lifecycle of software development and reporting tools while learning from experienced engineers and delivering high-impact solutions for government clients.

    + Contribute to software sustainment, enhancement, and development tasks across enterprise applications and reporting tools

    + Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy Java-based code and BIRT reports to meet system and business requirements

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing reports and applications, including developing and optimizing SQL queries for Oracle databases

    + Assist with refining reporting requirements to ensure alignment with business needs and customer expectations

    + Support development of front-end interfaces and application components using Java and related technologies

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an additional 4 years of experience might be substituted for a degree

    + 3+ years of related software development experience

    + Experience working with Java 7 or 8

    + Experience writing complex SQL queries

    + Experience in supporting development using C++ Experience writing reports using BIRT

    + Experience working with Oracle or other relational database environments

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Familiarity with Momentum Financial Systems

    Clearance Requirements:

    + Active U.S. Secret clearance is required

    + Special Background Investigation must be current (within the past 5 years)

    + Clearance must be transferable and subject to government approval to support the project

    Physical Requirements:

    + Must be able to remain in a stationary position for more than 50% of the time

    + Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

    + Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment
