Summary:
Deposit Transactions Specialists are part of the Deposit Operations department and provide a wide range of support to the many other First State Bank departments. This position is responsible for monitoring and processing transactional items and performing maintenance related to the Deposit Operations of First State Bank.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for monitoring, reviewing and processing all non-posted transactions, stop payments, positive pay or NSF items.
+ Process ACH items, chargebacks and incoming return items on a daily basis.
+ Responsible for balancing internal accounts, including Official Checks.
+ Customer Profile, Account, Bounce, ACH and
+ Responsible for levy, garnishment & freeze placement.
+ Responsible for general deposit account research.
+ Responsible for Fresh Start program set-up and monitoring
+ Handles annual escheatment review and processing.
Other Job Duties:
+ Report discrepancies to the Data Center Department and assist in clearing discrepancies.
+ Maintain detailed records on all work performed;
+ Maintain the confidentiality of customers;
+ Remain current on and adhere to all regulatory requirements and training;
+ Responsible for working Synapsys events & other emailed requests;
+ Monthly SISK reporting
+ Other tasks, as needed, in the Deposit Operations department
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Previous bank experience is preferred, or 3-5 years related experience or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ Customer and Personal Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
+ English Language -- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
+ Mathematics -- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
+ Effective interpersonal relationships with management and team members;
+ Ability to perform tasks quickly and accurately;
+ A thorough understanding and application of all policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the work of a Deposit Operations Specialist;
+ Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals;
+ Ability to effectively manage time as related to daily tasks;
+ Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form; and
+ Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high pressure environment while maintaining professional demeanor.
