This community's appeal continues to grow as exciting new developments are underway near the AdventHealth Minneola campus.
AdventHealth Minneola's 80-bed hospital will bring inpatient care to the growing population of South Lake County. Spanning approximately 204,000 square feet, the hospital will include an emergency department; full-service imaging; five operating suites; endoscopy services; outpatient laboratory; heart catheterization labs; critical care and general medical/surgical rooms. The role you'll contribute:
Direct interventions that protect patients from healthcare-associated infections in clinical and other settings, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, medical staff members, and guests. Conducts compliance audits to determine measures of success and adheres to guidelines and definitions of healthcare associated infections from the CDC, the Joint Commission (TJC), Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program standards, and federal and state regulations. Participates in projects and special programs relating to infection prevention and is responsible for implementing and coordinating all aspects of the Infection Prevention and Employee Health programs. Serves as a catalyst for change, actively involved in change management development for infection prevention. Collaborates with a wide range of healthcare professionals including the Chair of Therapeutics Committee, Emergency Department Physician(s), Occupational Health Physician(s), and serves as a consultant to the medical staff, and hospital professional and technical staff regarding infection prevention and control measures. Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of a multi-disciplinary program for surveillance, prevention, and control of infections. Manages and leads the Infection Control and Prevention Program, including developing policies governing control of infections and communicable diseases.

Integrates clinical findings, laboratory results and other diagnostic tests to determine the presence of infections utilizing the criteria established by the Centers for Disease Control, National Health and Safety Network HIPAC/SHEA
Identifies need for infection prevention measures in high risk patients based on risk assessment and assists with coordination and implementation of control measures based on patients age and diagnosis specific needs
Utilizes threshold data for the assessment of unit specific/service specific infection rates and informs the assistant director of any potential problems
Assists in the development of infection control related policies, procedures and educational programs to comply with local, state, federal regulations, TJC/AOA standards and CDC/HICPAC/SHEA guidelines and disseminates pertinent information as appropriate
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed** **:
Leadership in Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, and Quality Improvement
o Knowledge of continuous process improvement principles
o Good interpersonal skills and can communicate with staff at all levels-executive, management, and staff both written and verbally
o Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with good organizational skills, follow-up, and analytical and problem-solving skills
o Conduct oneself professionally, maintaining confidence, confidentiality, and objectivity
o Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
o Graduate of school of nursing, medical technology, public health, or another healthcare-related field
