    Required Skills:

    Senior Machine Learning Engineer Responsibilities:

    1. Lead a team of engineers to build the recommendation product of Short Videos in Facebook Newsfeed, help them unblock, and advocate for ML excellence.

    2. Architect, design, implement, and test large-scale distributed recommendation systems end-to-end (including inventory design, content retrieval, ranking stages, delivery, & ML infra) leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, data regression.

    3. Develop ML models, ML systems, ML infrastructure and software applications using Python, C++, PHP, Hack, shell scripts, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Spark, Presto.

    4. Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments including distributed clusters, multi core SMP, and GPU.

    5. Interface with 5+ cross-functional teams and partner teams of data scientists, product managers, frontend engineers, systems/infra engineers to collaborate on and launch cross-organizational projects.

    6. Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.

    7. Requires 1 year of experience in the following:

    8. 1. Machine Learning Framework(s): PyTorch, MXNet, or Tensorflow

    9. 2. Machine learning, recommendation systems, ranking systems, computer vision, natural language processing, data mining, or distributed systems

    10. 3. Translating insights into business recommendations

    11. 4. Hadoop/HBase/Pig or MapReduce/Sawzall/Bigtable/Spark

    12. 5. Developing and debugging in programming languages: C/C++, Java, Perl, Python, PHP, Haskell, and/or Shell Scripts

    13. 6. Relational databases and SQL

    14. 7. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands

    15. 8. Building highly-scalable performant solutions

    16. 9. Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability and

    17. 10. Data structures and algorithms

    18. 11. Developing machine learning ranking models with Two Tower Sparse Neural Networks, Multi-Task Multi-Label Neural Networks, and ID-based Two Tower Models

    19. 12. Recommendation and ML technologies including Collaborative Filtering, Maximal Marginal Relevance, and Determinantal Point Processes

    20. 13. A/B testing and experimentation analysis

    Public Compensation:

    $222,772/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
