This area focuses on object making and fabrication, teaching a range of techniques in wood, metals, mold making, soft sculpture, ceramics / clay, as well as mixed media and site-specific installation. This area also teaches interactive object making, physical computing, and various forms of digital fabrication, including 3D printing and the uses of various CNC machines.

Examples of courses for which we seek instructors include foundation-, intermediate-, and advanced-level courses in wood, metals, mold making and casting, soft sculpture, physical computing, digital fabrication, mixed media, and installation. Studio classes typically meet for three hours a day, two days a week, over a 14-week semester. Studio courses have an average enrollment of 15 students per class.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis all year long. Candidates who meet criteria for needed courses will be contacted during planning for the fall or spring semesters.

We encourage applications from members of groups that have been marginalized or underrepresented in art and higher education and who will contribute to the breadth of our program.
