We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team in New Berlin, WI. This role is ideal for an innovative engineer with a strong foundation in manufacturing methods, automation systems, and controls engineering. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing PLC and HMI applications, supporting field startups, and troubleshooting automation and robotics systems.

Key Responsibilities
+ Design and develop advanced automation systems and equipment.
+ Prepare cost evaluations and ROI estimates for automation projects.
+ Program and support machine control systems including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and inspection cameras.
+ Commission and validate equipment, including IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.
+ Troubleshoot and support new and existing automation systems.
+ Optimize manufacturing processes and standardize work procedures.
+ Redeploy collaborative robots based on production needs.
+ Lead technical training initiatives across departments.
+ Collaborate on New Product Development to ensure robust manufacturing processes.
+ Champion continuous improvement using Lean tools (Kanban, SMED, VSM, Kaizen, 5S).
+ Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, and Food Quality regulations.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
+ Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Proficiency in PLC programming and automation system design.
+ Experience with Fanuc and collaborative robots is a plus.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electro-mechanical systems.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ CAD/SolidWorks experience is a plus.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and estimate task completion times.
Physical Requirements
+ Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
+ Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
+ Comfortable working in environments ranging from 60° to 100°F.
+ Ability to climb stairs, bend/squat, and visually inspect components.
+ Must wear appropriate PPE.
