    What You’ll Be Doing

     

    US TI&I Risk and Governance is a first line of defense team which supports the departments referenced above. The Senior Risk Consultant will work closely with US TI&I Management and 2nd and 3rd lines of defense (Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit) to develop and implement well managed risk practices to ensure activities do not exceed the risk tolerance of the organization.

     

    As a Senior Consultant, Operational Risk, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing and reporting on an Operational Risk based program for LOBs within US TI&I. Responsibilities will including leading Risk and Controls Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs), as applicable. You will be responsible for leading and managing day-to-day deficiency and risk issue remediation; designing and implementing new controls and special projects, updating and maintaining a risk and control inventory, and remediating any gaps and inadequacies. You will also lead, coordinate, and liaise between US TI&I LOB Management and other lines of defense and collaborate with business units in developing and monitoring corrective action plans when responding to Audit, Compliance, Self-Assessed, or regulatory examination findings. You will also lead deficiency validation work once remediation is complete. You also provide risk guidance in developing, reviewing and maintaining operational risk and compliance policies and procedures as it relates to US TI&I Lines of Business. The Senior Risk Consultant also maintains awareness of regulatory changes across the industry, analyzing how the changes will affect the line of business, and creating a strategy to implement such changes within US TI&I.

    How You’ll Succeed

    + **Executive Relationship Management** – Works with and collaboratively consult with executive business partners in the LOB, while also collaborating with business partners in the 2nd and 3rd lines of defense for all matters relating to risk management. Manage relationships at director and senior director level, within the assigned LOB. Represent risk governance and controls for LOB initiatives.

    + **Risk Assessment/Risk Consulting** – Work closely with LOB partners to proactively identify risk exposures and control gaps. Analyze and synthesize risk exposures, operational losses, root causes and control gaps. Lead the assessment and recommendation of self-assessed deficiencies to mitigate risk exposures and control gaps. Lead all Internal Audits, Compliance Exams, AML/ CEEP, and GORM Reviews for the LOB regarding audit scope review & finalization, requests for information, fieldwork support and potential deficiency management. Lead deficiency validation documentation once remediation is complete.

    + **Risk Subject Matter Expertise** – Understand and communicate requirements related to fraud, AML, compliance, data, and transaction processing risks. Be able to translate risk requirements into process and controls. Identify efficiency opportunities within existing processes to ensure process

    + **Control Framework Design/Execution/Management** – Understands and communicate Control Framework requirements to LOB partners to ensure awareness and understanding and impacts. Lead the completion of CIBC Control Framework requirements, including Risk and Controls Self Assessments (RCSAs), Key Regulatory Indicators (KRIs). Act as the Maintenance Officer for Operational Process Controls (OPCs), Financial Process Controls (FPCs) and Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) controls.

    Who You Are

    + **You must demonstrate 5+ years of experience in** . Audit/Enterprise/Operational Risk Management/or Management Consulting, leading and addressing daily deficiency and risk remediation activities; developing and implementing new controls and managing special projects. You have a deep understanding of the risk assessment framework and experience performing end to end LOB risk and controls self-assessments covering key risks and controls. A strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements to perform and ensure an appropriate level of testing, an experience within financial, operational, compliance and reputation risks is required. You bring solid project management skills with the ability to adapt to change quickly, multi-task and demonstrate flexibility in prioritization based on requested tasks. BS or MS (Risk Management, Business, Finance or similar). It is also an asset if you have experience auditing LOBs within US Technology.

    + **You give meaning to data:** You possess Data analysis and visualization skills using Excel or other analysis software. Additionally, you are comfortable performing ad-hoc statistical analysis using Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, and other advanced Excel functions to determine root causes and trends related to testing failures.

    + **You are a strong communicator** . Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and problem-solving skills, including effective engagement with senior leaders of the organization.
