Job Title: Resident Project Representative

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Coordinator/Construction Manager to oversee major water and wastewater infrastructure renewal projects. This role involves comprehensive construction inspection, administration, and management coordination. The primary focus is on monitoring and managing contractor activities to ensure adherence to plans and specifications. You will review onsite construction work for compliance with Contract Drawings and Specifications and facilitate communication between the Owner and Contractor to ensure construction activities do not disrupt Owner operations. Additionally, you will assist with construction administration tasks such as RFIs, RFCs, field orders, claims, submittal and schedule reviews, meetings, and payment applications. This position requires the capability to supervise and train Field Coordinators and a strong understanding of technical disciplines related to water and wastewater treatment and conveyance. You should be able to independently coordinate small to mid-sized projects or portions of larger projects.

Responsibilities

+ Monitor and manage contractor activities for compliance with plans and specifications.

+ Review onsite construction work for adherence to Contract Drawings and Specifications.

+ Facilitate communication between the Owner and Contractor to ensure smooth construction activities.

+ Assist with construction administration tasks such as RFIs, RFCs, field orders, claims, submittal and schedule reviews, meetings, and payment applications.

+ Supervise and train Field Coordinators.

+ Independently coordinate small to mid-sized projects or portions of larger projects.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 10 years of general experience in construction administration and observation, preferably in water/wastewater treatment facility construction.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to interact effectively with project participants for successful project completion.

+ Experience in managing and mentoring Inspection Staff.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate or Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Candidates with water or wastewater infrastructure construction experience will be considered in lieu of the aforementioned degree.

+ Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation or ability to obtain within one year of employment.

Work Environment

The work involves various sites, mainly at water/wastewater treatment facilities, and office work in the nearby trailer and/or their office in Southfield. Occasional travel to job sites around Detroit and in surrounding areas is required. The office lease is up at the end of the year, with plans to move to the Troy area. The role is not seasonal, providing year-round work, and salaried employees receive straight time overtime pay.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Southfield, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
