FS Companies are committed to ensuring the continued profitability for the company, their owners, and their customers, while enacting to help the environment and greater good. *_PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT_* Under the direction, guidance, and mentoring of the MID-CO Managers, the GROWMARK/MID-CO Commodities intern will successfully learn and perform the job functions listed below and complete one or more business related projects. * _ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS_* * Learn the basics of merchandising, including hedging, basis and spreads. Learn how cash basis values fluctuate on a daily basis and track changes accordingly. * Assist Commodity Risk Consultant with marketing research and information analysis * Build professional relationships with current customers. * Utilize Commodity Risk Consultant job description to learn, perform, and excel to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful * Assist MID-CO staff with projects involving process improvement and efficiency. * _OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS_* * Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. * Performs all other duties as assigned. * _REQUIREMENTS_* * Must be pursuing an Agriculture or Business-related Degree at a 4-year university, with a status of at least a second semester junior in good academic standing at the time the internship begins. * Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. * Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position. * Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. * Must be able to travel independently and overnight when necessary. * _WHAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT US_* The GROWMARK Internship Program has been in existence for 67 years.
