We are seeking an Epic Hyperspace Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize the Epic Hyperspace environment across our health system. This position is responsible for ensuring a reliable, high-performance end-user experience with Hyperspace, including client deployment, Citrix/VDI access, printing, and integration with mobile applications.
The ideal candidate will hold Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) certification, have strong Citrix/Windows expertise, and be experienced in troubleshooting complex healthcare IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
+ System Administration
+ Install, configure, and maintain Epic Hyperspace clients across Windows and Citrix/VDI platforms.
+ Manage client distribution, version control, and environment-specific configurations.
+ Support specialized Hyperspace applications such as Haiku, Canto, Rover, and Hyperdrive.
+ Configure and support Epic print services, including troubleshooting multi-site printing issues.
+ Performance Monitoring & Optimization
+ Monitor Hyperspace login times, session stability, and performance metrics.
+ Troubleshoot client-side issues (slowness, connectivity, freezing) in partnership with desktop and infrastructure teams.
+ Optimize Citrix delivery groups and server performance for Hyperspace workloads.
+ Upgrades & Testing
+ Plan and execute Hyperspace client upgrades in alignment with Epic release cycles.
+ Participate in integrated testing (IST) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new releases and features.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of build, deployment, and configuration standards.
+ Collaboration & Support
+ Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for Hyperspace-related incidents.
+ Partner with Epic application analysts, network engineers, and server admins to resolve complex issues.
+ Develop technical support documentation and knowledge articles for IT staff.
+ Security & Compliance
+ Ensure compliance with HIPAA, organizational IT security standards, and audit requirements.
+ Support integration with single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication, and Active Directory.
+ Maintain encryption and endpoint security standards for Epic clients.
Qualifications
+ Education/Certification:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
+ Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) certification required
+ Citrix or VMware Horizon certifications (CCA/VCP) strongly preferred.
+ Experience:
+ 3+ years in IT systems administration, preferably in healthcare IT.
+ Hands-on experience with Epic Hyperspace client management, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, and Windows Server administration.
+ Knowledge of Epic print services and mobile app delivery a plus.
+ Skills:
+ Strong troubleshooting skills in multi-tiered technical environments.
+ Proficiency with Active Directory, GPOs, and application packaging.
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with Epic Hyperdrive migration.
+ Familiarity with VMware VDI or Horizon environments.
+ Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, batch, or SCCM/Intune).
+ Exposure to Epic Technical Services (TS) and environment build processes.
