The Department of Psychology, College of Arts & Sciences has two open Research Associate 1 positions in Dr. Safren's research program (Health Promotion and Care [H-PAC] lab). Primary research projects include those associated with HIV/AIDS (prevention and intervention). Applicants should demonstrate, preferably through previous experience, a strong interest in pursuing psychology and/or mental health research, preferably but not necessarily focused on behavioral medicine, HIV, LGBT health, and/or mental health in global settings. Applicants should be comfortable working with individuals with diverse backgrounds on issues related to sexuality, drug use, and mental health. Having the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously is key. Bachelor's degree required. Degree in psychology preferred. Some research lab experience preferred. These positions offer valuable research experience and exposure working on various studies related to social and behavioral aspects of HIV prevention and treatment.
Job duties:
30% - Coordinating multi-site study activities and communications. May include Recruiting/screening/enrolling study participants, administering psycho-social assessments to patients as needed
27% - Monitoring and evaluating protocol compliance. Reporting adverse events as required by institutional/federal regulations. Adhering strictly to any and all IRB guidelines and confidentiality requirements. Preparing submission of protocol revisions and safety reports to the IRB and National Institutes of Health (NIH). Preparing annual progress reports for IRB and NIH renewal of ongoing studies
15% - Assisting with manuscript and presentation preparation. Assisting in the preparation and submission of grant applications
15% - Prepare communications/reports to IRB and NIH. Prepare correspondence and take care of minor budget management
12.5% - Data entry and quality control procedures
5% - other duties as assigned

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Experience:
