    Legal Counsel

    What we are looking for:

    Aldridge is currently looking for a highly motivated attorney with two to four years of experience to serve in the role of legal counsel. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of risk mitigation for the business including drafting and negotiating agreements including contracts, subcontracts, joint venture agreements, purchase orders, and other related agreements. You will help manage and strategize construction claims and litigation and be responsible for overseeing claims and legal issues that arise.

    What you’ll do:

    + Mitigate contract risk by identifying risks in contract documents and effectively guiding sponsors and operational teams toward risk mitigation in contract negotiations.

    + Drive other compliance and/or risk mitigation support and improvement initiatives as required.

    + Draft and advise as to proper claim strategy and contract execution.

    + Provide advice to operational teams with respect to legal issues that develop during the course of projects.

    + Provide advice and input into risk mitigation in job planning and in pre-bid strategy.

    + Be a training resource that elevates these capabilities across the organization.

    + Manage labor and employee relations claims as needed.

    + Manage outside counsel on litigation matters as needed.

    Who you are:

    + Law degree with successful completion of the Illinois Bar Exam.

    + Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in legal firm or corporate setting.

    + Construction experience preferred, but not required.

    What we offer:

    The annual base pay for this role is between $110,000 - $140,000. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus.
