• Bus Driver/Automotive Mechanic

    Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a full-time Bus Driver/Automotive Mechanic with full benefits. This position involves the operation of an automotive vehicle used to transport students and/or passengers and the efficient performance of a variety of automotive repair and machinist tasks.

    Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

    + Performs skilled operations in making general repairs on gasoline and diesel motor equipment;

    + Grinds valves and fits new bearing, pistons and rings;

    + Assembles and times engines;

    + Operates a bus on a regular schedule and/or on special trips;

    + Checks operating condition of the bus before starting trip;

    + Maintains orderly conduct of students and passengers while on bus;

    + Related work as required.

    Job Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications:

    + Class B permit with P&S endorsements (training available upon hiring)

    + Two years of experience performing skilled automotive repair work or comparable courses in automotive mechanics and repair plus one year of experience performing skilled automotive repair work.

    + Must be 21 years of age
