The Role
The Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) assists the New Product Development (NPD) electrical engineering team with the design and development of new and existing lithium-ion battery and charger/power system designs.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Tests/troubleshoots/debugs assembled PCBs and systems.
+ Assembles/modifies engineering prototype systems and PCBs
+ Inspects designs and finished products for quality control and compliance with regulations.
+ Builds, calibrates, and repairs electrical instruments and testing equipment.
+ Analyzes test information to resolve design problems.
+ Conducts research experiments and produces professional reports.
+ Takes direction from NPD team and executes independently.
What You Bring:
+ A.A.S. in an Electrical or Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar discipline
+ 5 years minimum relevant experience
+ Expert level soldering and mechanical assembly skills
+ IPC-610A, or equivalent, solder certification desired
+ Expert in reading digital and analog schematics, BOMs and assembly drawings
+ Proficiency with lab equipment used in electronics design including but not limited to Power Supplies, Electronic Loads, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Logic Analyzers, and Voltage and Current measuring devices
+ Proficiency with Windows PCs including PowerPoint, Excel, Word
+ Basic knowledge in the following:
+ Altium CAD
+ SolidWorks
+ LabVIEW
+ Embedded SW
+ Microprocessors and Microcontrollers
+ Attention to detail, logical reasoning, analytical skills, and communication are a must.
Travel up to 10% of the time to support field issues or projects at other Ultralife sites.
