WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Senior Substation Design Engineer** to join our Power & Energy team in _Orlando, FL_ . The candidate will be involved in projects with our Power Delivery Substation Department and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

+ Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra-high-voltage utility substations

+ Perform detailed design of one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling

+ Leads tasks for technical assignments on projects

+ Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, tracking and organizing many tasks of varying importance and size

+ Team Player – Responsive, reliable and collaborative

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, from an accredited university, preferably with a power option

+ Experience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards

+ Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently

+ 5+ years of experience in utility substation design, as outlined above

+ Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Master’s Degree in Engineering

+ Professional Engineer License

+ Experience in 230kV through 500kV substation design

+ Experience in managing small project teams.

+ Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Inventor
