    Job Description

    The Civilian Complaint Review Board (“CCRB”) is charged with investigating, mediating, and prosecuting complaints which members of the public file against New York City police officers alleging the use of force, abuse of authority, discourtesy, offensive language, untruthful statements made by officers, and racial profiling and biased policing. The Board consists of 15 members who are appointed by the Mayor, the City Council and Public Advocate or designated by the police commissioner. The Board is responsible for governing the agency. The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the agency. As the largest police oversight agency in the United States, the CCRB currently investigates approximately 4,500 complaints each year.

     

    The CCRB seeks an Executive Assistant to report directly to the Executive Director. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

     

    - Managing confidential files, multiple schedules and calendars for the Executive Director, executive staff members, and board members

     

    - Handling confidential secretarial duties for the Executive Director and other executive staff.

     

    - Responding to all incoming requests for meetings in a professional manner

     

    - Prepare draft responses for the Executive Director’s signature

     

    - Plan, arrange and participate in teleconferences and video-conferences

     

    - Scheduling board panels

     

    - Attending weekly internal Board Panel Meetings

     

    - Sending email reminders of monthly board meetings

     

    - Corresponding with appropriate units regarding board meeting scheduling and attendance

     

    - Scheduling and onboarding new board members

     

    - Complete various complex projects, as needed.

     

    Executive Assistant will work in-person five days a week

    Qualifications

    1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

    2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

    3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

    Salary Min: $ 62,868.00

     

    Salary Max: $ 97,593.00
