    Job Title: Quality Engineer

    Job Description

    Join our dynamic Product Quality team, which is integral to the Quality Customer Satisfaction organization.

    Responsibilities

    + Act as the Chairperson for the Field Quality Meeting for assigned markets.

    + Lead the Quality Action Group (QAG) as appointed.

    + Search, detect, and quantify customer quality issues early via enhanced analytics.

    + Prioritize quality actions to achieve committed targets for assigned products.

    + Recommend rapid containment actions and appropriate quality-solving tools for identified field issues.

    + Decide which emerging customer issues require pre-investigation.

    + Initiate, coordinate, and prioritize quality actions within design, Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.

    + Communicate and report on product quality or customer satisfaction within the company.

    + Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented quality-solving solutions.

    + Request and present external campaigns based on technical descriptions.

    + Identify potential safety-related issues from field reports/claims and communicate with the Safety Investigator.

    + Lead actions/tasks within the PQL network to achieve application quality goals.

    + Challenge other Product Quality Leaders to prioritize major unaddressed issues.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related field.

    + Master's degree preferred.

    + 5 years of automotive industry experience, preferably in a service or maintenance-related role.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Cross-functional team leadership or project management experience.

    + Experience in dealership operations or direct dealer interface.

    + Judgment abilities for prioritizing issues to add value for both customer and brand.

    + Ability to quickly gain credibility and establish positive relationships/networks.

    + Experience in predictive analytics and data mining.

    + Strong customer focus, both internal and external.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Global experience is an advantage.

    + Experience with quality systems such as 8D, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis.

    + Experience in the automotive, truck, or heavy equipment industry preferred.

    + Good cross-functional communication skills.

    + Proficiency in analyzing data, warranty issues, and field issues.

    + Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
