Shift: Hybrid Schedule
Employment Status: Part-Time (.5 - .74)
Hours per Pay Period: 0.60 = 48 hours every two weeks (Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: $37.11 - 46.39
The Quality Program Coordinator has the responsibility, accountability and strategic direction for the quality programs. The role develops a culture of quality and safety, identifying opportunities and initiatives to enhance quality and patient safety. The Coordinator develops operational plans that build upon the present quality program to continue to be innovative in its approaches to quality and patient safety.
Essential Job Functions
• Develops implements and evaluates the Quality Improvement plan.
• Develops Executive QI committee and oversees the agenda preparation.
• Collects reviews and maintains data relative to all quality and patient safety activities of facility operations and areas of clinical concern. Ensures that all departments establish and maintain quality improvement programs. Assists departments in evaluating the effectiveness of quality improvement activities.
• Collects data on admissions and throughout hospital stay from the medical chart for quality-of-care screening, trending and for medical staff committees. Is aware of individual patient population needs. Acts as a resource to the clinical team to assure appropriateness of the plan of care and clinical documentation.
• Receives and compiles statistics related to all unusual occurrences not limited to but including patient and visitor incidents. Coordinates the investigation and resolution of patient complaints in a timely manner.
• Provides oversight of the collection of accurate data that is reported to outside agencies to comply with regulatory requirements and meet the expectations of various quality initiatives.
• Serves as a resource on each clinical team for questions related to Medicare coverage and documentation to support a system of total quality improvement.
• Provide guidance and oversight of peer review process that supports the achievement of continuous improvements in patient care.
• At BCB, serves as risk management and patient relations.
Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Two (2) Year/Associate Degree in Nursing
• Four (4) Year/Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and/or obtain one within 3 years of hire - Preferred
Experience
• Three (3) years quality, risk management and patient safety experience
Certifications and Licenses
• Healthcare Provider CPR certification - At hire
• ASCP or AMT Phlebotomy Certification required within (1) year of hire
• MT Driver License and the ability to be insured to operate organization vehicles – At hire
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
- Employees that require a licensed or certification must be properly licensed/certified and the licensure/certification must be in good standing
