    Job Title: Field Service Technician

    Job Description

    As a Field Service Technician, you will provide essential technical support and service to customers throughout the entire life cycle of their machines. This includes assisting with installation, start-up, and training, ensuring that machines operate safely and efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide technical support and service to customers for their machines.

    + Assist customer personnel with installation, start-up, and training on machines and systems.

    + Offer technical service support when machines are not performing optimally.

    + Instruct customers on safe and efficient machine operation.

    + Recommend spare parts to customers to maintain adequate inventory.

    + Update the Engineering Department on field changes to machines.

    + Suggest improvements to enhance machine reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

    + Participate in final machine checkout to ensure readiness for shipment.

    + Support the Engineering Department with retrofit concepts and design.

    + Assist in writing the initial level of customer training manuals.

    Essential Skills

    + Machine building expertise.

    + Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting.

    + Electrical troubleshooting skills.

    + Field service experience.

    + 2+ years of experience in a maintenance or machine build role.

    + Knowledge of PLC/servo troubleshooting.

    + Professionalism in customer service, communication, and attitude.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a close-knit team with 60 total employees and 3 current Field Service Technicians. Standard hours are 8-hour days (7 AM-3:30 PM) with a typical 40-hour workweek at home. In the field, expect 10-12 hour days with occasional Saturdays if needed, with a maximum of 55 hours per week. The company specializes in semi-automatic and fully automatic vertical bagging systems and medical device heat sealing machines.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Homer, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.

     

    Non-exempt

     

    Bi-weekly pay (every other Friday)

    Traveling position (home on weekends)

    3 weeks PTO

     

    Benefits start Day 1 (medical, vision, dental, etc.)

    Performance incentive ($50 per machine) - paid out quarterly
