    Job Description

    About the Role

     

    EnviroLogix is looking for an Associate Production Scientist I, based in our Portland, ME facility. You will be a key member of our team, with primary responsibilities including:

     

    + Follow established safe work practices and work in a safe manner.

    + Follow EnviroLogix safety policies and procedures for reporting any unsafe or hazardous condition to their supervisor or the Environmental, Health, and Safety department for corrective action.

    + Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and standard work.

    + Record accurate material usage and inventory transactions for test material.

    + Prepare controls and standards for in-process testing.

    + Perform functional testing of in-process and completed product.

    + Use common laboratory equipment, including pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers.

    + Qualify raw materials and reagents.

    + Prepare buffers, critical reagents, and kit components.

    + Tabulate quantitative data processing, reporting, and analysis, including performance tracking and trending.

    + Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and equipment issues.

    + Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming product.

    + Participate on cross-functional teams.

    + Work closely with production and R&D to facilitate product transfer, including review of documentation, pilot production, and scale up.

    + Meticulously and timely complete quality system documentation.

    + Work on continuous improvement projects; individually and as a part of a team.

    •Reports To: Manager, Production Testing

    Skills Required:

    + Excellent attention to detail and high quality standards.

    + Working knowledge of computer-based systems including Microsoft Word and Excel.

    + Ability to communicate effectively, work smoothly with a team, cooperate with and support co-workers.

    + Ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as in an independent role.

    + Ability to work cross-functionally with teams across operations to achieve business objectives.

    + Self-motivated, execution oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present technical data cross-functionally.

    Preferred:

    + Associates or Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related STEM field preferred. Relevant years of experience may substitute.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to work in a laboratory environment and office environment

    + Ability to stand for extended periods of time

    + Ability to utilize a computer for extended periods of time

    + Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly
