    Description

On-Call Field Representative – Energy Efficiency

    Ready to make a difference?

ICF is seeking an experienced **On-Call Field Representative** to support local energy efficiency programs. This role blends account management, field services, and event support, requiring strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to engage stakeholders across residential and commercial sectors.

The **Field Representative** will work with contractors, property managers, retailers, distributors, and consumers to promote energy efficiency upgrades and support consumer-facing induction cooking events. This includes educating stakeholders on available incentives, coordinating field activities, and providing on-site support during events. Familiarity with AV/video equipment setup and troubleshooting is a preferred skill to enhance event execution.

    About On-Call Employment with ICF:

Given the seasonal or project-specific nature of our environmental work, ICF often hires environmental professionals as “On-Call” employees. On-Call employees are scheduled for work hours as they become available (we usually schedule work hours a few weeks ahead of time), and each on-call employee is free to accept or refuse the hours assigned to them in a given week. On-Call employees may work concurrent projects outside of their ICF assignment (as long as their outside work does not create a conflict of interest with the work they do for ICF).

The position is PART TIME, serving Sacramento and surrounding areas. The schedule will vary depending on events, evening and weekend travel.

    What you will be doing:

+ Conduct outreach via calls, online meetings, and in-person visits with contractors, distributors, and customers.

+ Support induction cooking events by coordinating logistics, engaging attendees, and assisting with AV/video equipment setup and troubleshooting.

+ Educate stakeholders on energy-efficient technologies and available rebate programs.

+ Maintain strong ongoing communications with program participants to assess needs and gather feedback.

+ Track project status and update CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) accordingly.

+ Distribute marketing materials and support promotional campaigns.

+ Perform presentations and orientations at industry events and client-sponsored activities.

+ Create and present summary reports to program managers and clients.

+ Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel in Sacramento and surrounding areas (mileage reimbursement included)

    Minimum Qualifications:

+ 1+ year(s) of experience in energy efficiency, equipment or technology sales, outreach, public presentation and/or related experience

+ Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check

+ Availability for flexible, on-call scheduling and local travel in the Sacramento area

    Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in energy efficiency or sustainability consulting

+ Knowledge of electric and gas equipment (e.g., HVAC, lighting, water heating, pool pumps)

+ Familiarity with AV/video equipment used in event settings (e.g., projectors, microphones, video recording)

    + CRM experience

+ Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

+ Demonstrated success in sales and customer engagement

    Professional Skills:

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

+ Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

+ Self-motivated and capable of working independently

+ Comfortable initiating conversations and presenting to diverse audiences

+ Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
